Protest against arrest of Pambei led UNLF cadres continues

Protests against the arrest of the three cadres of Pambei-led United National Liberation Front (UNLF) by National Investigation Agency (NIA) gain momentum.
The people continue to stage protest demonstrations in different parts of the State today.
Expressing strong opposition against the arrest of the three cadres of Pambei-led UNLF which has entered a peace talk with the Government, displaced women folk taking refuge at Khurkhul Mandop Yumpham relief camp cautioned that intense agitation will be taken up if the arrested cadres are not released at the earliest.

Speaking on the sidelines of a sit-in protest staged at the relief camp today, Kangjam Guni Leima of Leimakhong Chingmang demanded for unconditional release of the arrested cadres acting in accordance with the wishes of the people.
She further highlighted the immense suffering of the displaced who have been compelled to take refuge in relief camps and urged the Government to bring an amicable solution at the earliest and pave the way for the restoration of peace and normalcy in the State.
Resonating the demand for unconditional release of the arrested cadres, protest demonstrations were held in different parts of Thoubal district.
A large number of womenfolk carried out a sit-in protest at Yairipok Thambalnu Market today under Andro Assembly Constituency organised jointly by Angtha Apunba Meira Paibi Lup and Poiroukhongjil Apunba Meira Paibi Lup.
Similar protest was also staged today by Thoudam Apunba Meira Paibi Lup.
Strongly opposing the arrest by NIA, a human chain was formed yesterday night from Khongjom till Waithou in Thoubal district by different meira paibi lups and shouted slogans demanding their release.
The women protesters warned to boycott the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections if their demands are not fulfilled at the earliest.
In line with the above, meira rallies were held at Uyal and Wangbal in Thoubal district and at Langmeidong and Waikhong in Kakching district yesterday.
