Imagi Meira decries bid to nab village volunteers

Imagi Meira media coordinator P Ranibala has said that the women's organisation will not remain silent over the state government's continuous attempt to round up village volunteers and members of an underground organisation which had signed peace agreement with the government of India.
Talking to media persons at Manipur Press Club, here, on Monday, P Ranibala said that Kuki terrorists continue to attack the Meetei deliberately since the past ten months.
While the crisis remains unresolved till date, the Election Commission of India announced schedule for the Lok Sabha election including two parliamentary constituencies of Manipur.
Amidst such situation, NIA arrested three key members of a prominent underground organisation which had entered into Peace Agreement with the government of India and this has led to trust deficit among the people on the GOI and Manipur government, she said and expressed concern over the fate of village volunteers when members of an armed organisation maintaining ceasefire are being arrested anytime.
According to P Ranibala, Imagi Meira and mothers of Manipur will never remain silent when the government acts against the village volunteers and tries to arrest them.
She also demanded clarification from chief minister N Biren Singh regarding the 10 Kuki-Zo MLAs' denial of holding any talk with Meetei MLAs.
