AR dismantles training camp

Two teams of Assam Rifles on Sunday dismantled suspected training camp of village volunteers and anti-national elements in the vicinity of Tengnoupal and seized bombs, arms and ammunition.
A release by PRO IGAR (S) informed that acting on credible intelligence, two teams of AR launched the mission to dismantle a suspected training camp of village volunteers and anti-national elements in the vicinity of Pengpalep, Tengnoupal district along the Lokchao river.
Although the insurgents had fled the camp, evidence of insurgent training could be found with the presence of firing range, obstacle training course and temporary bamboo structures, it informed.
The teams demolished the structures and recovered caches of arms and ammunition including improvised grenade launchers and IEDs.
The recovered items were subsequently handed over to the Moreh police station for legal proceedings, it added.
