Imphal, April 06 2024:
Rather than giving attention to the Lok Sabha election, people should scrutinise the Congress's agenda regarding 'separate administration in the state' included in their manifesto, said CAF and PD minister L Susindro Meitei.
In a press meet held at his Khurai Sajor Leikai residence on Saturday, minister L Susindro accused the Congress party of conspiring to disintegrate Manipur.
The people should be wary of the Congress's plan of ending the conflict by giving separate administration to the Kukis, he said.
"On page 37 of the Congress's manifesto for the 18th Lok Sabha election, there is mention of an appointment of a reconciliation commission to bring about a political and administrative settlement in the state.
Which is basically the Congress's agenda of giving away separate administration to the Kukis," he claimed.
The minister pointed out that Congress's leader Bhakta Charan Das had, on many occasions, alleged that the ongoing violence in the state is started by the Meiteis, adding that a quick observation of the names of the many star campaigners of Congress party indicates the party's stance with the Kuki community.
He appealed to those who stand for the territorial integration of Manipur to support the BJP government and disrupt the "divisive forces" of Congress party.
BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesperson Elangbam Johnson, while addressing a press meet at the party's head office, here, on Saturday, also expressed concern over the manifesto of Congress party, which promises to remove the government in the state and bring political and administrative settlement that will be satisfactory to all the people of the state.
At the same time, the Congress manifesto also promises to bring a final solution and agreement with Naga groups on the basis of the preliminary agreement that had been agreed in 2013-14, he said and added that these promises are ambiguous and does not have any clarity on the supposed solution.
He also alleged that Rahul Gandhi, during his visit to Manipur, neither opposed the separate administration demand nor the proposed NRC update, while on the other hand, union home minister Amit Shah had made it clear that there will be no separate administration in the state.
