Combined team recovers cache of arms, ammos

Bishnupur, April 06 2024:
A combined team of Bishnupur commando and 32 Bn CRPF along with Nambol police station on Saturday conducted a search operation at Maibam Lotpa Ching Mamang Leikai near Kabui village and recovered 'warlike' arms and ammunition.
According to a police report, based on information shared by 33 Assam Rifles, the search operation was conducted by a combined team of Bishnupur commando led by MPS P Sanjoy Singh, SI Nandalal Singh, Hav Sailesh, 32 Bn CRPF and Nambol police led by OC Abhinav IPS under the overall command of Bishnupur SP Ksh Ravikumar Singh and Bishnupur additional SP (Ops) Amarjit Lamabam.
During the operation, the team recovered 'warlike stores' including one Sten gun carbine with two magazines, one 9 mm pistol, one modified 303 rifle, nine HE 36 hand grenades, three smoke bombs, five 51 mm Mortar shells, one 2 inch Motar shell, one detonator, four walkie-talkie sets, eight 7.62 mm ammunition, two 5.56 INSAS ammunition, two AK ammunition, one tube launcher, one helmet, three pairs of jungle boots, three bullet proof vests, one Rucksack bag and one sleeping bag.
The items were found inside three different bags lying on the front side of Maibam Lotpa Ching, where suspected militants were hiding, it continued.
The entire areas Were thoroughly searched and the recovered articles were brought and handed over to Nambol Police station for necessary legal procedure, it added.
