NSUC, Brothers hold friendly football match

Imphal, April 06 2024:
Naga Students' Union, Chandel and its federating units held a friendly football match with Brothers at Pine Field Turf Ground in Chandel on Saturday.
Held under the theme 'Motivating One Another Through Sports', the match ended in a draw with each side scoring 11 goals.
However, the teams expressed excitement and enthusiasm over the match stating that it was not a question of win or lose but rather a way to motivate each other in these hard times.
Elly Ruwnglal, NSUC president, expressed satisfaction over the friendly match stating it was time that one should motivate each other in the right way amidst the ongoing crisis.
"The past 11 months have been really difficult for the people of Manipur and we need to motivate each other through all possible and positive means," he added.
Wilpelngam Nula, vice-president All Naga Students' Association Manipur (ANSAM), also expressed positivism over the friendly match, stating that one must take steps to motivate each other amidst these trying times.
He called upon both teams to help spread the message of peace and bring normalcy in the state.
"We must put in effort and help restore peace in our state", he said.
Joyshing Monsang, national elite referee, said that sports are one of the most effective ways to inspire, motivate and connect with the people.
They transcend languages, boundaries and are one of the best ways to connect with the people.
Sports, he added, are a universal language.
The friendly football match saw a sea of fans and supporters who appealed for peace in the state, according to a release.
