Imphal, April 06 2024:
While stating that candidates or political parties should not take help from insurgents trying to disintegrate Manipur and Kuki militants under SoO pact to intimidate the people for power-politics in the election, Manipur International Youth Centre (MIYC) has said that the simple and innocent Meira Paibi womenfolk and local clubs, organisations should not be drawn into the dirty Indian politics and stained them.
In a release, MIYC coordinator T Parijat Singh cautioned everyone to be careful about the narrow Indian politics that divided the people into many pieces in the midst of the time when everyone should take firm stand for protecting the integrity of Manipur.
The present system of Indian capitalism and the autocratic democracy has commodified the voters and disintegrate the people.
It is threatening to witness the attempt to hold power by taking help from militants that try to disrupt the integrity of Manipur and Kuki militants who are attacking Meeteis.
There is stark difference between taking help from Dadahiri, Don, Zamindars for power politics in Bihar, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and from the insurgents that tried to disrupt the integrity of Manipur.
Since previous times, the healthy relationship between hill based militants and politicians in electoral politics is reflected.
Instead of election, selection is done in hills.
As a result, the elected persons adopted decisions to disrupt the integrity of Manipur, support and even protect cadres involved in unlawful activities.
The electors have been kept under control and command of the insurgents, he added.
Parijat pointed out that Meira Paibi and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) have been working for protection of people and community since earlier times.
However, there isn't a time when they are involved in Indian politics.
They have been fighting against the oppression by the central government and AFSPA to protect the rights of the people.
So, the true nature of Meira Paibi has been stained by power-politics, he lamented.
Stating that the present situation has worsened the economy of the land, he said that people are facing inconveniences and women faced burden even more.
However, despite the problem brothers and womenfolk should never visit the residence of politician beggars, the coordinator continued, while appealing to the people to jointly fight the issue in front and never stuck in the divisive Indian politics.
