PTCC, MODEL, CRAU notch up victories in MNCA Elite Tournament

Imphal, April 06 2024:
PTCC, MODEL and CRAU won their respective league matches in the MNCA Elite Tournament on Saturday.
Andy Mandingbam Singh and Sadananda Okram delivered heroic performances to steer PTCC to a 69-run win over TRAU at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Imphal.
Andy Mandingbam smashed 84 to help PTCC put up a competitive total of 226/5 .
Hijam Hemachandra Singh (40 not out), Gemson (39) and Paonam Champion Singh (33) also made significant contributions to their total.
PTCC then bowled out TRAU in 32.1 overs for 157 for a commanding 69-run victory as gritty knocks by Pukhrambam Prafullomani Singh (58) and Thounaojam Rishikanta Singh (47) went in vain.
Sadananda Okram was the star performer in the PTCC attack.
He delivered a lethal spell, claiming six wickets.
Sohail Akram, Naorem Victor Meitei, Gemson and Abit Hijam chipped in with one wicket each.
MODEL handed a five-wicket thrashing to SCCC at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-Ill Cherapur, Thoubal.
The Chingjamei squad elected to held and dismissed SCCC for 129 in 39.4 overs.
Langlonyamba Singh M led the MODEL bowling attack with three scalps as both Sunil Salam and Dibak Naorem picked up two wickets, with Loukrakpam Superjit Singh and Waikhom Priyokumar Singh taking one apiece.
SCCC's innings saw Lishan Meitei Khaidem (27 not out), Laishram Ronson Singh (17), Phijam Langamba Meitei (17), Ulenyai Khwairakpam (13) and Roshan Das (11) reach double digits.
Chasing 130, MODEL took 27.3 overs to wrap up the victory courtesy of Langlonyamba Singh M (29), Ronald Ningombam (28), Dibak Naorem (24 not out), Bipinkumar Langpoklakpam (13) and Veteshor Sharma (11) and Bijenkumar Singh Nongmaithem (6 not out) .
For SCCC, Sandeep Chakraborty took three wickets.
CRAU, meanwhile, beat ESU by 19 runs at Lairenjam Public Ground, Imphal.
Put in to bat, CRAU were dismissed for 191 in 43.1 overs.
Ph Jodash played a pivotal role in their innings, scoring 80 off 45 balls.
Potshangbam Ronil (33), Lamabam Jotin Singh (21), Heishnam Joyhenba Meitei (16), Khangenbam Bimol Singh (15) and Senate Singh Mayengbam (12) also contributed to the team's total.
CRAU then produced a collective bowling performance to bowl out their opponents for 172 in 41.4 overs.
Bm Sabakhan, Takhellambam Kala Singh, Lamabam Ajay Singh and Heishnam Joyhenba Meitei grabbed two wickets each while Lamabam Jotin Singh added one to help their side clinch the match.
In ESU's chase, Yumkham Balajit and Thokchom Nishikanta Singh each scored 37 while Chongtham Mehul Shreth finished with 28 .
Earlier, both Thokchom Ni-shikanta Singh snapped three wickets as Chitaranjan Sharma and Chongtham Mehul Shreth each took two for the losing side.
