MitSna Foundation members secure summer research fellowships

MitSna Foundation has announced the achievement of two of its executive members, Archana Hijam and Brahmacharimayum Puhenba Sharma, who have been selected for the esteemed Summer Research Fellowships under the Indian Academy of Sciences (IAS).
These fellowships, highly competitive and rigorous in selection, offer an invaluable opportunity for students and teachers across India to collaborate with eminent scientists associated with the three premier science academies in the country.
Archana Hijam, currently pursuing her Masters at DU, has been selected for the Summer Research Fellowship Program 2024 in the discipline of Life Sciences.
She will undertake her internship at the prestigious Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Kashmir (SKUAST).
On the other hand, Brahmacharimayum Puhenba Sharma, a Bachelor's student at St Edmund's College, Shillong, has secured the Focus Area Science and Technology Summer Fellowship 2024 in Physics, and will conduct his research at the renowned Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.
Both Archana and Brahmacharimayum will receive a monthly stipend of 12.5k as part of their fellowship, ensuring financial support during their research endeavours.
Their selection underscores their exceptional academic prowess and dedication to scientific inquiry.
Notably, MitSna Foundation has emphasised the importance of such internships in fostering scientific research and providing opportunities for aspiring scholars from diverse backgrounds.
Ningthoujam Monendra, another member of MitSna serving as the finance officer, had previously been selected for the same internship at IISc Bangalore in 2023, reflecting the consistent excellence of the organisation's members.
MitSna Foundation has urged students and teachers from all universities and colleges affiliated with UGC/AICTE/MCI/Accredited Institutions/Private Universities to consider applying for these fellowships.
The foundation emphasised that these internships not only offer financial support but also facilitate meaningful interactions with distinguished scientists, promoting knowledge exchange and academic growth.
The foundation also offers to extend assistance to students regarding these internships.
