Major M Pritam cremated with full military honours

Mortal remains of major M Pritam Singh, which arrived at Imphal Airport on Friday, were cremated with full military honours on the same day.
In a release, PRO PIB (Defence) conveyed that the body of the officer was received by the senior military officers and as a mark of respect and as per military traditions, all present paid floral tributes to the departed solider at the airport.
The mortal remains were then taken to the officer's residence at Luker in Imphal West district of Manipur.
The cremation ceremony was held with full military honours, in the presence of senior military officials, representatives of civil administration and family members at around 4 pm on Friday, it added.
The release mentioned that major M Pritam left for his heavenly abode on April 3, while deployed in an operational area, due to climatic hazards.
The officer was commissioned into Indian Army on December 9, 2017, after successful training at Army Cadet College and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
The officer was an avid sportsman and enjoyed love and respect by all ranks of his battalion, it added.
