In a gathering marking the 44th anniversary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held at the Tamenglong BJP office headquarters on Saturday, the party's state unit spokesperson M Asnikumar expressed gratitude to the diligent workers of the party for their steadfast commitment to BJP's principles and ideals.
He emphasised the BJP's unwavering dedication to serving the people of Manipur and beyond, urging karyakartas to redouble their efforts in advancing the party's transformative agenda for the region's welfare and development.
Addressing the gathering, Asnikumar reiterated BJP's core ideology of 'Antodaya', emphasising the party's commitment to serving the poorest and weakest sections of society.
Reflecting on BJP's journey since its establishment in 1980, he highlighted the party's remarkable growth from 2 seats to 303 seats today, attributing its success to the unwavering support of the people.
Anticipating a significant electoral victory in the upcoming parliamentary elections, Asnikumar expressed confidence that BJP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will secure a resounding mandate, surpassing 350 seats independently and crossing 400 seats with its allies.
He underscored BJP's focus on good governance, development, and policies aimed at uplifting the country and its citizens, reaffirming BJP's status as the world's largest political party.
Asnikumar lauded BJP's initiatives for the Northeastern states, particularly under the visionary leadership of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the transformative policies of PM Narendra Modi.
He highlighted the significant progress made in infrastructure development, healthcare, and welfare initiatives under BJP governance, contrasting it with the lacklustre performance of previous administrations.
Emphasising the BJP's commitment to empowering marginalised communities, he highlighted the party's efforts in showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Northeast to the nation and the world.
He praised PM Modi's Act East' policy, which has brought opportunities and recognition to the region, and highlighted the neglect of the region's history and culture under previous governments.
Addressing the current challenges facing Manipur, he reaffirmed BJP's resolve to address them effectively, emphasising that external forces cannot alter the dynamics of the state.
He praised Chief Minister N Biren for his efforts in confronting these challenges and safeguarding the rights of the indigenous population.
As the parliamentary elections approach, Asnikumar appealed to the people of Tamenglong to support the NDA candidate from NPF, Timothy Zimik, emphasising the pivotal role this election plays in shaping the state's future.
He urged citizens to cast their votes in favour of Zimik and contribute to the continued progress and development of Manipur.
