"Far East Ultrathon" held, AR assists

Moreh, July 23 2022:
The third edition of the Far East Ultrathon organised by Sangai Striders was successfully held today.
The run was organised for different distances-70 km, 50 km and 25 km and the 70 km run was formally flagged off from Whispering Woods, Kuraopokpi near Kakching Lamkhai with 8 participants and culminated at Trade Centre Moreh.
Meanwhile, the 50 km event participated by 2 runners and 25 km event participated by 10 runners were flagged off from Saivom and Lokchao bridge respectively.
Speaking on the sidelines of the run, president of Sangai Striders Lt Col Naorem Kumar stated that the run has been organised annually to popularise the distance run in thee State and help keep up the pace with world wide trends.
He also expressed gratitude to AR units/Bn under 26 Sector Assam Rifles along the Imphal Moreh Road for providing forms of assistance.
He also thanked GR Infra Project for arranging a bus for the athletes participating in the ultrathon.
Modi Battalion assists
The Modi Battalion extended a helping hand to the runners of "Far East Ultrathon" under the aegis of IGAR(S).
The troops of Modi Battalion provided the participants with hydration materials like water, ORS, glucose, fruits and energy bars enroute to ensure that the participants complete the Ultrathon with ease and safety, said PRO of IGAR (S) in a statement.
All the participants and members of the organising committee thanked the Battalion and were elated by the assistance provided by the Modi Battalion, it added.
