Imphal, July 23 2022:
Parents and guardians
of OBC and general students,
who were selected for admission to Jawahar Navodaya
Vidyalaya (JNV), Kangpokpi,
have alleged that Kangpokpi
ZEO refused to sign on admission forms of the selected
students.
Speaking to media persons
in this regard at Manipur Press
Club here on Saturday, one
Anita (guardian) recounted
that students took JNV Kangpokpi entrance examination
for admission in Class VI on
April 30 with 40 of them
selected based on their performances in the exam.
The
selected students need recognition certificate of Kangpokpi
ZEO and counter signed for
admission.
However, the ZEO
refused to provide recognition
certificate and counter signed
on the admission forms of the
selected students, she alleged.
It is unfortunate that the
ZEO refused to sign as if the
school is only for Scheduled
Tribe and students of the area
are allowed to admit, Anita
condemned, while expressing apprehension that the selected 40 students might lose
their academic year due to the
ZEO's indifferent attitude.
While urging the government and authorities concerned to look into the matter, she also called for making
arrangement for the students
so that they do not lose their
academic year.
