Imphal, July 23 2022:
The Principal of Tamphasana Girls' Higher Secondary School has clarified that the ongoing admission process of Class XI in the school is not based on any reservation policy and is purely in good faith in the larger interest of the student community.
Principal of the school, Dr Vinita Devi Elangbam in a press release made the above clarification while reacting to the baseless allegations levelled against the school regarding the ongoing admission process of Class XI.
She went on to state that the school constituted an admission committee and initiated the admission process since there are no reservation norms set by the Government for admission in Government schools and as the Directorate of Education (S) delegated the power to the principals and the in-charge principals to conduct the admission process through an admission committee in a transparent manner deemed fit for their respective institutions for this academic session.
As resolved by the admission committee, 50 percent of the available seats were reserved for direct admission while the remaining 50 percent to be selected through a written test.
After minute deliberations and keeping in view of the diversity of the categories of the applicants the committee also resolved to set up a reservation norm of its own, she added.
