Active cases dip, 79 new cases detected

Imphal, July 23 2022:
Government bulletins on Saturday
reported 79 new positive cases from 12 districts out of 1026 samples tested in the last
24 hours registering 7.70 per cent positivity
rate.
For the first time since the 4th wave
began, the active cases came down under 600.
The 79 fresh cases (64 male & 15 female)
are residents of Imphal West (27), Imphal
East (22), Churachandpur (8), Thoubal (5),
Kangpokpi (5), Tamenglong (3), Bishnupur
(2), Kakching (2), Ukhrul (2), Chandel (1),
Kamjong (1) and Tengnoupal (1) districts.
Saturday also reported 93 recoveries from
home isolation (82) Shija Hospital (7), RIMS
(3) and Jivan Hospital (1).Moreover, 34 already discharged cases pending for update
were also reported only on Saturday making
the total number of discharged cases in the
last 24 hours to 127.
Meanwhile, number of active
cases came down to 596, out of
which 433 (72.65 per cent) are
in home isolation.
Till date, the pandemic has
claimed 2124 lives including
seven CAPF personnel and
infected 1,38,468 individuals
including 5,014 CAPF personnel.
The virus has claimed
lives of 196 vaccinated persons
of which 62 had received second doses.
There are 12 vacant
beds available in JNIMS and
19 in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 1223 positive cases and four
deaths since the beginning of
the fourth wave of the pandemic.
The current month has
reported 1198 new positive
case and four death cases.
The cumulative positivity rate
for the current month fell to
10.60 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 71
D-type and 1 B-type oxygen
cylinders have been made
available to different health
facilities and 10,778 vaccine
doses administered taking
the cumulative number of
vaccinated population to
16,08,008, out of which
12,79,627 had received the
second dose and 1,74,228 had
precautionary doses.
As per data maintained
by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR
reports, number of total
cases in different districts
are Imphal West (49331),
Imphal East (30769), Thoubal (10224), Churachandpur
(11112), Kangpokpi (3155),
Tamenglong (3487), Bishnupur (9891), Senapati (2505),
Ukhrul (3309), Kakching
(6932), Chandel (2749), Noney
(1169), Tengnoupal (1206), Jiribam (1114), Kamjong (1047),
and Pherzawl (468).
Data analysed by this
daily shows that the rate of
infection remains 44,624
confirmed cases per million
population (based on projected population of 31,03,000
as per NCP report) against
the national average of 31,160
CPM.
Test rate has improved
to 5,24,005 tests per million
population against the national average of 6,19,249
TPM.
Case fatality rate stands
at 1.53 per cent and the recovery rate rose to 98.04 per cent.
The cumulative positivity rate
stands at 8.52 per cent.
