Manipur crowned NE Women's League champs

Imphal, July 23 2022:
Manipur Sangais beat Sikkim Pandas 2-0 to win the inaugural North East Wornen 's Football League 2022 at SAI Turf G round, Takyel on Saturday.
The early stages of the final match saw some missed chances from both sides, but the home team looked better organised upfront and showed superiority in moving the ball more efficiently and penetrating the opposition defence.

Manipur's goal finally came in the 36th minute as Sikkim defence wilted on pressure to concede an own goal by H Sunita Devi.
The hosts built on that goal and made further in roads after the break.
The Sangais gained further ground in the 58th minute when Y Pakpi worked her way through the Pandas defence and made no mistake in hitting the ball in to the net.
Sikkim tried hard to get back into the game but Manipur stood their ground and went on to get their hands on the winners' trophy.
Sikkim 's Naocha (jersey No.19) earned the golden boot of the tournament courtesy of her 7 goals and 3 assists.
The first edition of North East Women's League sponsored by Anantapura Sports Events Pvt Ltd.
Rajasthan, and organised by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA), drew a total of eight teams comprising Nagaland Wild Hogs, Assam Rhinos.
