SU, MPSC end in thrilling 3-3 stalemate as RAU edge KLASA

Sagolband United (SU) and Manipur' Police Sports Club (MPSC) shared the spoils in a six-goal thriller as Rising Athletic Union (RAU) grind out a 1-0 win over Keinou Library & Sports Association (KLASA) in the Manipur State League on Sunday.
The first match saw SU stamp their authority with two goals inside 23 minutes only to be wasted as MPSC made a feisty comeback to make it all square seconds before the halftime whistle.
Thokchom Adision Singh put the Sagolband side ahead in the 19th minutes before Thongam Lenin Singh doubled the advantage in the 23rd minute.
After their strong start, SU gradually lost steam to towards the end of first half, thanks to relentless efforts by the police squad.
Gritty MPSC reduced the arrears in the 42nd minute with Ningombam Arjun Singh on target and Koijam Umakanta's thrilling strike in the last minute of first-half added time evened the score.
After a 2-2 stalemate, the squads turned up the intensity wherein MPSC outmanoeuvred their opponents to turn the tables early in the second period.
It was Umakanta again for the police team with another sublime finish.
The MPSC striker scored his second and team's third goal in the 50th minute.
After trailing behind, SU went all out and their efforts paid off when Singam Subash Singh dodged his way past the MPSC defence to fire home the leveller that eventually wrapped up the 3-3 draw.
Later in the day, Wakambam Michael Meetei's first-half goal helped RAU edge past KLASA 1-0 .
RAU exploited a goalmouth contest setting up Michael to slot the ball into net in the 24th minute as they clung on to pick up all three points.
