Addressing a press meet at Manipur Press Club, here, on Sunday, association president Sapam Samungou said that the casual and muster roll employees are facing serious hardships in running their families due to low wages paid by the government coupled with rising inflation.
Even after rendering their services for over three decades, the government is providing their wages at the rate of Rs 194 for skilled and Rs 274 for unskilled employees, which sum up to Rs 8850 and Rs 8224 per month respectively.
