Kh Joykisan highlights urgency to address drug issue in State

Khumukcham Joykisan, MLA Thangmeiband AC has highlighted the problem of drug menace as the most pressing issue in the State.
The MLA was speaking at the 11th foundation day observance function of Students' Union of Kangleipak held at Meipa Banquet hall, Konung Mamang today.
Speaking on the occasion, Kh Joykisan stated that the problem posed by drug abuse needs urgent attention not only from the State administration but from all sections of society.
He added that this problem cannot be solved by the Government alone without the public's support.
He also pointed out the need for the relevant authority to pour their efforts in rehabilitation of drug abusers in order to combat the drugs crisis in the State.
Further, he expressed hope that SUK will also extend their aid in trying to solve this pressing issue.
The function was also attended by Jitendra Ningombam, president CCSK; Dhanakumar Ningthouja, president, SUK; Dr Chingangbam Sarat, Chairman, COHSEM and representative of various CSOs.
As a part of the function, SUK also distributed prizes to the winners of a debate competition which was conducted yesterday.
