Meiraba wins singles title at Maharashtra Int'l Challenge

Imphal, September 18 2022:
Manipur's ace shuttler Maisnam Meiraba claimed the men's singles title in the Maharashtra International Challenge at Nagpur.
Meiraba got the better of second seeded Mithun Manjunath 21-14 21-16 within 42 minutes in the ultimate clash today to seal the top honour.
Earlier in the tournament which kicked off on September 13 under the aegis of Badminton World Federation and Badminton Asia, Meiraba secured pre-quarter ticket with a hard fought 21-19 23-21 over Arunesh Hari.

Meiraba then reached the quarter-final with a 21-11 21-18 win over Aryaman Tandon before overcoming Kartikey Gulshan Kumar 21-17 19-21 21-16 to confirm semi-final berth.
In the semi-final, 19 years old Meiraba won 22-20 21-14 over Kiran George to set up a final date with Mithun Manjunath who entered the final with a 22-24 21-7 21-18 win over Ravi in the semi-final.
