Thoubal, March 01 2023:
Pointing out that the road near KM Blooming Higher Secondary School leading to Hayellabuk in Khangabok assembly constituency is in deplorable condition as if there is no authority to look after it, Sport, Culture and Educational Organisation (SCEO) Khangabok Part-I has demanded authorities concerned to repair the road at the earliest.
Speaking in this regard, SCEO president Kh Jitendra informed that the drains on both flanks of the road are also in deplorable state due to non-repairing of the road for a long time while culverts are also damaged.
There is an apprehension that no one would be able to use to the road when monsoon season arrives, he contended and accused the local MLA of undermining public grievances.
While recalling that the organisation had also complained to Thoubal DC for repairing the road, he cautioned that the organisation will prohibit movement of vehicles, including those heading towards the nearby police commando complex, in case authorities concerned continue to ignore the demand.
According to local Meira Paibi secretary N Anita, they have been urging for repairing the road left unattended for over 20 years and suggested that authorities concerned start the repair work within March 15 to avert public agitation.
