Imphal, March 01 2023:
The proscribed Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) has declared that Slopeland Public School, Khongjom will be banned permanently from the current academic session due to the school authority's anti-revolutionary views and opposition to revolutionary principles.
Announcing this in a statement, KYKL said that appropriate action will be initiated to make the ban effective.
However, the ongoing examinations will be exempted from the purview of the prohibition as the students are from the previous academic year, KYKL said in a statement issued by its publicity and research secretary A Yaiphaba.
The secretary cautioned that there should be no new admission to the school nor should the classes continue.
It also said that all the employees of the school including teachers and non-teaching staff should stop attending the school.
The school should not be mortgaged or sold during the interim period and there will be equal punishment for both the parties for such unscrupulous acts, the statement said and informed students who wish to transfer to other schools to get transfer certificate right away from the school administration.
According to the KYKL statement, the outfit sent a notice on September 30, 2022 informing Slopeland Public School to cough up fine and annual tax due to the party, which the school had been neglecting for several years.
The notification warned the school authority that it would be closed from the following academic year if taxes were not paid on time.
In a similar manner as in previous years, the school authority defied the notice which KYKL considers as outright affront to the organisation.
To lure students for enrolling in the school for the next academic session, the school authority claimed that KYKL and the school authority were about to resolve the issue while falsely telling others that the dispute had already been resolved.
There is no way KYKL can ignore this challenge and it will be viewed as a serious threat to the national liberation movement currently underway in Kangleipak, the KYKL statement maintained.
