Manipur State Cooperative Union demands conduct of election

Manipur State Cooperative Union (MSCU) cautioned of intense agitation if the election of the union is not held at the earliest.
Addressing media persons during a press meet held today at Manipur Press Club, Kh Tomba, member of Manipur State Cooperative Union informed that the process of holding a general body meeting and electing new office bearers could not be completed within its term of five years.
Accordingly, a 5-member team was constituted as Board of Administrators of the Union for a period of six months on August 26, 2022, he added.
Tomba while urging the authorities concerned that the members who were included in the extension team should not be re-appointed.
Lastly he demanded that election of the Union should be held at the earliest freely and fairly failing which the Union will be compelled to take up intense agitation in coordination with various apex bodies across the State.
