Imphal, March 01 2023:
PTRC-Patsoi Part IV extended their winning streak to five games as CHAMP-Khagempalli returned to winning ways in the ongoing 7th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament.
PTRC, who won the toss and elected to bat first, were bundled out for a competitive total of 242 runs in 29.3 overs as Somorjit Salam (5/51) and Sunil Salam (3/18) wreaked havoc at Public Ground, Khangabok Part III Cherapur.
But the PTRC's total proved too big as Model succumbed to economical bowling pressure of PTRC and gathered only 210 runs for 8 wickets in the chase.

PTRC had a slow start today but lost Khangembam Santosh for 14 as he was caught behind by wicketkeeper Thoudam Deepak off the bowling of Somorjit Salam at 36 in 10.1 overs.
Ngariyanbam Johnson and Gemson Mutum, however forged a 79 run partnership before Gemson was also caught behind for 36 runs for the second wicket off Somorjit Salam's fourth ball of the 24th over.
Jotin Pheiroijam who came in for Gemson was caught out by Bijendrakumar the next delivery for a golden duck and Somorjit Salam had his fourth wicket in the form of Ng Johnson who just brought up his half century off 68 balls as the scoreboard read 120 in 25.1 overs.
Loitongbam Shitaljit (26), Chingakham Bidash (26) and Ngariyanbam Jameson (35) kept the scoreboard ticking for PTRC in the meantime before Somorjit Salam completed his fifer by trapping Jameson lbw in the 37.4 overs.
Sunil Salam then swept the remaining three batters to wrap up the innings at 242 in 39.3 overs.
The total also included 34 extras spilled by Model Club bowlers.
In the chase, Model Club batters struggled to find their rhythm the game throughout and ended up collecting 210 runs despite sensible batting performance from Langlonyamba Meitankeishangbam (64 off 69) and unbeaten 9th wicket partnership between Sunil Salam (38 not out off 55 balls) and Suson Yanglem (40 not out off 25 balls) .
Chingakham Bidash (2/29) and Khaidem Joyraj (2/42) led the PTRC bowling attack while also maintaining a fine economy while Gemson Mutum, Jotin Pheiroijam, and Ngariyanbam Johnson shared a wicket apiece.
Johnson of PTRC who scored a half century and picked up a wicket was adjudged man of the match.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College Ground, CHAMP Cricket Club, who faltered in the previous game, notched up their fourth win in five games with a 74 run victory over REYS, Khwai Nagamapal.
CHAMP stacked up a modest total of 193 runs for 7 after electing to bat first thanks to Leikhram Johny's slow but significant 100-ball 69 and Lairenjam Ansh's 47-ball 44 .
Romario was the pick of the REYS bowlers as he snapped four wickets for 47 runs in 8 overs while Sapam Bikash clinched 2 wickets for 24 runs in 8 overs.
Chasing 194 for the win, REYS batting department fell cheaply to an aggressive bowling combination of Sultan Karim (4/24 in 8 overs) and Md Ahsanul Kabir (2/24 in 6.5 overs) and eventually collapsed at 119 runs for 9 in 32.5 overs with the Thongam Subhaschandra unable to play.
