CM urged to save shrine in Myanmar

Imphal Myanmar Meitei Development Association (MMDA) has urged Manipur chief minister N Biren to save the Ibudhou Pakhangba shrine in Myanmar.
In a release, the Association informed that the Ibudhou Pakhangba shrine is the sacred place for the Meitei community settling in Myanmar.
Its representatives met the land owner where the shrine is located at Mandalay Division, Amarapura Township, Tadalel (Tadaley), on February 24 and reached an agreement on over taking over of the sacred place by paying the owner an amount of Rs 4,520,000.Since the association has no money to acquire the land, it appealed to the chief minister to do the needful for saving the sacred site and shrine, the release said while adding that MMDA has met the land owner as no reply has been received from the Manipur chief minister despite memos submitted to him.
