Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) and Zeliangrong Youth Front have appealed to the State Government to consider the suffering of the public and take up definite & concrete measure to bring an end to the indefinite strike and ensure the agitating medical doctors resume their duties at the earliest.
In a release, Zeliangrong Baudi informed that the indefinite strike imposed by the doctors has extremely impacted the economically distressed people of the hills especially in the absence of alternative health care services centres in the hill districts unlike in Imphal and other valley districts.
It continued that there are reports of even birth & death certificates not being processed and issued since the hospitals and its related administrative units have been closed due to the indefinite strike in hill districts.
"Though the demands raised by the medical doctors seemed to be genuine and requires consideration by the Government, it is also felt important to remember that human lives and their values are more precious and immeasurable than anything else which cannot be substituted or exchanged by anything in any manner, therefore, the medical doctors is strongly urged to consider the suffering of the common people and abide in their chosen profession with professional ethics, responsibility and commitment in the service of humanity", it added.
Zeliangrong Baudi further appealed to the State Government to sit across the table with the agitating doctors and explore every possible ways and means to fulfill their demands considering the suffering of the public.
