IMSCOM, AMYPCO celebrate foundation day

Indigenous Minorities Socio Cultural Organisation Manipur (IMSCOM) celebrated its 8th foundation day at its office premises on Wednesday.
The programme was attended by social activist Chabungbam Birendra as chief guest and IMSCOM president Momsokam Bapui as functional president while UPF president N Rupachandra, IMOM president Ason Thanga, NIPCO president O Premjit and HRG president Robin Shinglai were guests of honour.
As part of programme, Smart Canes were distributed to visually impaired persons.
Meanwhile the 16th foundation day of All Manipur Youth Protection Committee (AMYPCO) was celebrated at the New Checkon office of Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak (CCSK) on Wednesday.
In a release issued by AMYPCO, the celebration was attended by CCSK president Jeetendra Ningomba and AMYPCO president Thiyam Saratchandra as chief guest and president respectively.
In connection with the celebration held under the theme "Youth for Nation Building"; AMYPCO called up all sections of the society to contribute towards a self-reliant and drug free Manipur, and pledged its commitment to fight against substance abuse and root out the drug menace from the state.
While expressing concern over the emerging trend of using liquor even during religious and family events, AMYPCO also pointed out the need to do away with such practices and help in developing the state in every aspect.
