JNVGO demands four-lane roads

Joint Non-Government Voluntary Organisation (JNGVO), Kakching has urged the government to construct four-lane roads with proper drain, footpath, culvert, median (road divider) in Kakching Municipal areas as part of its proposed widening of National Highway 137 (A), which passes through Kakching.
In a release, JNVGO president Kshetrimayum Biren stated that it has been frequently requesting the authorities concerned to widen the NH 137(A) and welcomes the notification issued by deputy commissioner of Kakching for acquiring land for widening of the Kakching section of the said road on July 23.The government must take up the proposed road widening as a four-lane road project with suitable drain, footpath, culvert and median so that the road can be long lasting and prevent accidents, it reiterated.
The release further conveyed that Kakching Lamkhai to YK College Wangjing section of NH 102 (Imphal-Moreh road) has no road divider which has led to frequent road accidents, therefore, a road divider must be constructed on the said road by the authorities concerned.
