World Zoonoses Day observed

World Zoonoses Day was observed at Ramlal Paul Higher Secondary School today to highlight the importance of Zoonoses and its public health significance among school children.
The event was organised by the Regional Coordinator, National One Health Program for Prevention and Control of Zoonoses, Department of Microbiology, RIMS under the aegis of NCDC, New Delhi.

Zonal Education Officer, Sucheta Khumukcham along with Zonal Zone I staff, Principal of Ramlal Paul Higher Secondary School, P Memthoi and teachers of the school attended the programme.
The objective of the programme was to sensitize the teachers about diseases like Rabies, Dengue, Japanese Encephalitis and other zoonotic diseases which are infectious and are naturally transmitted between vertebrae animals and humans.
Information Education Communication (IEC) materials were also distributed to the participants.
