Birth anniversary of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee observed

Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Churachandpur and Endurance Library, Molnom today jointly observed the 121st birth anniversary of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee at the Conference Hall of the library in Molnom, Churachandpur.
Speaking on the occasion, H Doungel, Deputy Director/OSD, NYK Churachandpur highlighted in a nutshell the life and contributions of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
He stated that Shyama Prasad, who founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh in 1951, was a barrister, a refined academician and a visionary politician.
He also mentioned that the programme was organised to spread awareness about his life and contributions to the Nation.
Presenting a paper on "The Contributions of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee for India", T Lawmpi, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Rayburn College, Churachandpur dwelt at length on the contributions in the field of politics and education.
He stated that Shyama Prasad was a champion of unity and became one of the builders of the Nation.
Seijachung Haokip, proprietor of Endurance Library also attended the programme.
Later, NYK Churachandpur also organised a blood donation programme at Churachandpur District Hospital.
Moreover, NYK Thoubal in collaboration with Association of Voluntary Blood Donors Thoubal Branch and State Blood Cell, NHM Manipur today conducted an "One Day Voluntary Blood Donation and Awareness Camp" to commemorate the 121st birth anniversary of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee at Blood Centre, District Hospital Thoubal.
A total of 23 donors (14 men and 9 women) from NYK Thoubal volunteers and members of AVBDM Thoubal Branch donated blood at the centre.
At the event, Dr L Dorendro Singh, Specialized in Transfusion Medicine, Medical Officer in Charge of Blood Centre District Hospital Thoubal, briefed the donors about the importance of donating blood for a healthy life.
Waqas Mohd, NYV of NYK Thoubal spoke about the life history of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and his contribution to the Indian freedom movement.
Similarly, NYK Chandel also observed the birth anniversary of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee at its office in the presence of SK Dominic, Assistant Professor, United College Chandel, staff of Sericulture Department, Social Welfare Department and NYVs.
