Diarrhoea Control Fortnight begins in Ccpur

The District Health Society and National Health Mission, Churachandpur launched Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight at the conference hall of Churachandpur district hospital medical superintendent on Wednesday.
Additional DC Khaikhopau Ngaihtem, CMO Dr Kimngaihching Simte and ICDS district programme officer Helen Lallienmawi attended the launch function as chief guest, functional president and guest of honour respectively.
After launching the Zinc tablet and ORS, Khaikhopau Ngaihte highlighted the importance of ORS and Zinc particularly in controlling diarrhoea among children below 5 years of age.
He also appealed to health workers to ensure that every child in the district including those living in far flung areas get ORS and Zinc.
Dr Kimngaihching stated that the objective of the fortnight observance is to ensure zero death due to diarrhoea among children.
She also said that Zinc and ORS shall be distributed to children and these medicines are important for controlling diarrhoea.
