First aid training held in Bishnupur

Bishnupur, July 06 2022:
Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Bishnupur Branch on Wednesday organised a training programme on first aid at Panchayat Resource Centre, Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.
IRCS master trainers imparted the training which was attended by ADM Bishnupur H Bobby Sharma, AC to DC Ejaj Hassan, CMO Dr L Raichandra, DLOs and other officials and staff of the district.
During the training, the master trainers demonstrated various techniques for providing first aid before medical assistance is available.
Techniques on putting a person under recovery position, administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for infants as well as adults, responding to choking, strokes, burns and excessive bleeding response at home among others were covered during the session.
Participants were also provided a hands-on training on administration of CPR and other first aid methods.
Highlighting the responsibilities for first aid providers, the master trainers informed that the Good Samaritan guidelines offer legal protection to people who provide assistance to accidents and other injured victims in need of help.
For fear of legal prosecution, people have been reluctant to help strangers in need, they added.
The master trainers also cautioned against compromising and endangering one's own safety before administering first aid to any victim in need.
Chairman, members and volunteers of IRCS Bishnupur Branch were also present in the training.
