CHAMP beat WYC by 5 wickets in 6th MNCA Elite Tournament

CHAMP outplayed WYC by five wickets as the 6th MNCA W Prahlada & W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2021 22 resumed on Wednesday at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Asked to bat first, WYC scored 178/7 in 37 overs as Wangkhem Shamungou (53) and Tayenjam Tomba Singh (50 not out) led the innings.
Priyobrata Moirangthem did his bit with 31 and Huirongbam Bireshwor Singh contributed 11.In response, CHAMP achieved the target in 34.5 overs for the loss of five wickets.
In their chase, Nitesh Sedai top-scored for the winning side with 55 off 49 balls and Sougrakpam Shangker Singh also impressed at the crease smashing 54 off 39 balls, with contributions from Leikhram Johny Singh (28), Chingangbam Bonny Singh (16), Md Sultan Karim (11 not out) and Nongthombam Gulson Singh (1 not out).
Two wickets of CHAMP fell prey to Huirongbam Biteshwor and one each to Mangi Sharma Gotimayum and Wangkhem Laksmon Singh.
Earlier, Nitesh Sedai and Lairenjam Ansh Singh scalped three wickets each for CHAMP.
With his all-round performance of 55 runs and three wickets, Nitesh Sedai earned the man-of-the-match accolade.
CRAU will take on PTRC on Thursday.
