Army assists in unveiling Gaidinliu's statue

Imphal, January 10 2022:
Srikona Battalion of HQs IGAR (East) under Spear Corps on Monday extended necessary assistance for organising the unveiling ceremony of the statue of freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu.
According to PRO (DW), the statue was unveiled by Kangleipak Kanba Lup (KKL) chief adviser Yambem Laba in the presence of family members of Rani Gaidinliu and security forces.
The ceremony was conducted at Luangkao Part-1 village, Rani Gaidinliu's native place under Tousem sub-division in Tamenglong district and it was celebrated by the locals along with family members of Rani Gaidinliu and security forces.
The villagers, Rani Gaidinliu Foundation and family members of Rani Gaidinliu appreciated the efforts of Security Forces for assisting them for organising the historic ceremony of unveiling the statue of Rani Gaidinliu.
Rani Gaidinliu was one of the renowned freedom fighters from Manipur, who was also famous as Daughter of the Hills, the PRO noted.
