Kimneo calls for exam centres at Kangpokpi

Imphal, September 03 2026: Kuki People's Alliance (KPA) MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangsing has sought intervention of the State Government in allotting centres of competitive exams.

Speaking during zero hour in the State Assembly today, Kimneo Haokip Hangsing said that many students have been deprived of the opportunity to appear in several competitive exams as they still feel insecure to go to Imphal.

She urged the Government to see that centres of competitive exams are also allotted at Kangpokpi.

Expressing happiness at being able to attend the Assembly session with security arrangement, she lauded the Government's efforts to restore peace in the State.

It has been quite a long time that essential items including medicines are not available in sufficient quantities in several Kuki-Zo areas, particularly Saikul, she said.

Oil pumps in Saikul AC continue to remain shut for over three years.

At the same time, people in the Saikul areas have been reeling under acute shortage of essential commodities after certain organisations blocked movement of all types of goods toward Saikul, Kimneo Haokip Hangsing said.

She said that IDPs in Churachandpur have been living in a very deplorable condition.

Most of the relief camps in Churachandpur are congested and unhygienic.

Women IDPs have been facing additional difficulties for lack of privacy, the KPA MLA said.

She also sought the attention of the House toward resettlement of all IDPs at the earliest.
