ISKCON temple plan at Anganching opposed

Several Kakching-based organisations have strongly opposed the plan to construct an ISKCON temple at Anganching and demanded immediate halt of the construction process.
Organisations which are opposed to the temple project included Lainingthou Sanamahi Shanglen of Kakching Khunyai Leikai, Nongpok Panthoibi Shanglen of Kakching Wairi, Nongpok Panthoibi Shanglen of Kakching Khongnang Mari Phangba, Kha Nongpok Kanglei Thinjinlup Panthoibi Shanglen of Kakching Sumak Leikai, Kha Maikei Nongpok Panthoibi Shanglen of Kakching Sabal Ashangba Pareng and Kha Kanglei Ima Panthoibi Shanglen of Kakching Laithagol.
According to a joint statement of the organisations, people of Kakching have been living peacefully with everyone adopting religion of their choice but construction of an ISKCON temple at Anganching would create division among Kakching people.
Anganching is a historic site and let it be left as reserved land for development related activities, the joint statement said and appealed-to all concerned to withdraw the decision to construct the temple at the said site.
