Imphal, January 10 2022:
Elangbam Valentina, the brand ambassador of state government's Green Manipur Mission, has drawn attention of chief minister N Biren towards the need for protecting the 13 banyan/peepal trees affected by the NH 102 (Imphal-Moreh highway) expansion work.
Valentina gained public attention following a viral video in which she was seen crying over felling some trees, which she had planted.
Consequently, the school girl was made the brand ambassador of Green Manipur Mission by CM Biren himself.
On Monday, Valentina shared a video message in which she appeals to the chief minister to protect the banyan/peepal trees and to look for possibilities of re-aligning the highway to keep them intact.
In her video message, Valentina mentioned about cutting down banyan trees in Wangbal area affected by the same project and impact of cutting down trees to the natural eco-system.
