21st Karing Ngei Sports Meet commences

The 21st Karing Ngei Sports Meet, a knockout football tournament, under the theme 'Glorify God with your Talents' organised by Karuangmuan-1 Baptist Youth Fellowship kicked off on Monday at Karuangmuan-1 Football Ground, Noney district, with Poujian Riamei, social worker as chief guest and Dinglin Kamei as guest of honour.
The opening ceremony started with hoisting of flag by the chief guest and lighting of Karing Ngei's Torch by the guest of honour.
Cultural dance and folk song were performed by Women Society, Karuangmuan.
Speaking at the sports event, the chief guest said that sports not only bring peace and unity but also keep people fit, and also provide jobs to the youths.
Sportspersons should not indulge in intoxicants but work hard with strong determination to fulfill their dreams, he further said while thanking the village authority and village elders for constructing a good playground.
Altogether, 17 teams from different parts of Noney district are taking part in the tournament.
In the opening match, Makhuam -2 FC beat Karuangmuan-1( A) by 2 -O .
And in other matches, CR GUANG beat Athletic FC 1-0, United Brothers-FC beat Veteran Club 8-1 and TRS-FC defeated Nungtek Youth Club 2-0 .
