TAYA 44th Annual Sports Meet kicks off

The 44th Annual Sports Meet 2022 of Tujang Area Youth Association (TAYA) under Kangpokpi AC kicked off today.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by ADC Sadar Hills Caretaker Chairman, Haokholal Hangshing as chief guest while Haotinlen Vaiphei, chief of S Molnom and Lamkholen Kipgen, former executive member ADC Sadar Hills attended as guest of honour and functional president respectively.
While Rev Lunkhosat Kipgen attended as the dedicating Minister, ST Thangboi attended as the donor/special guest.

The chief guest inaugurated the monolith erected to commemorate the inauguration of the renovated playground of TAYA which was dedicated by the Rev Lunkhosat Kipgen in the presence of other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, Haokholal Hangshing said that it has become important to have a good playground for the youth as Manipur is recognized as the powerhouse of football in the country.
He continued that most of the National and international level players begin their career in a playground like the TAYA has.
"It signifies that we are no less than others but what is lacking behind us is determination and commitment," he said.
He also exhorted youth of the Tujang area to play with determination and commitment so that they can be the inspiration for the next generation.
Other dignitaries also spoke on the occasion and distributed red blankets to all the village chiefs of the Tujang area.
Following the inspection of players by the chief guest and the dignitaries, a premier match was played between P Khothah Part II Youth Club and Cananphai Youth Club to mark the opening of the annual sports meet matches.
Cananphai Youth Club overwhelmed P Khothah Part II Youth Club 2-0 courtesy Laljalen (25th) and Lalgoumin (67th) scored for Cananphai Youth Club.
Cultural dance from Kholjang Youth Club, Paspati Gorkha Youth Club and Saikotjang Youth Club marked the occasion.
Tujang Area Chiefs' Organization and various other local civil bodies also attended the inaugural and opening ceremony.
