Waqf Board recruitment row: AMMDC locks Waqf Board office

All Manipur Muslim Development Committee (AMMDC) has locked the office of Waqf Board, Manipur today in connection with its recruitment controversial recruitment notice.
As per a press release by AMMDC, an ultimatum of 48 hours was served to the Waqf Board to refund the form submission fees collected in connection with the controversial recruitment notice of Waqf Board has been cancelled by the Government.
However when the members of AMMDC paid a surprise visit to the office of the Board in regards to the matter however it was found that official staff including the Project Officer (MMPO) and Project Officer (Administration) were not present with giving any prior official information.
Expressing concern over such reckless attitude of the employees, AMMDC maintained that such acts are against the Government's directive to be punctual at the offices for effective and smooth functioning.
Further AMMDC has urged authorities concerned to take up appropriate legal action against those involved in the recruitment scam of Waqf Board.
AMMDC also cautioned to file an RTI in this regard .
The organisation further clarified that the issue is nowhere related with politics and asserted that the organisation has been working earnestly for the well-being of the Meitei Pangal community in the State.
In regards to the public statements made by some organisations without proper research and fact finding, AMMDC appealed to all concerned to refrain from such acts and not to mislead the public on the matter.
Meanwhile, Delhi Association of Manipur Muslim Students (DAMMS) has also raised questions regarding the controversial recruitment notice in connection with WAQF Board, Manipur and has appealed to all authorities concerned to investigate the matter at the earliest and set things right to restore the public's trust and in the larger interest of the Meitei-Pangal community.
