Sensitisation prog on electoral literacy held

Bishnupur, January 10 2022:
In connection with the ensuing State Assembly Election 2022, S Kula Women's College Nambol organised a one day electoral literacy programme at its conference hall.
The programme was organised under the aegis of the District Election Office, Bishnupur as part of SVEEP activity to encourage and create awareness among young voters, 18-21 age groups on voting rights and ethical voting.
Speaking on the occasion, Bishnupur DEO/DC L Bikram Singh encouraged the young voters to exercise their voting rights judiciously while cautioning against unethical voting as it has negative impact on national building process.
Emphasising on the value of every single vote, Bikram appealed to all eligible young-voters who comprises of 7.4 per cent of the electors in the district, to exercise their voting rights in the upcoming election.
As part of the function, a district level quiz contest as well as a debating competition was also conducted on electoral literacy.
Later, ah the participants of the function took the national voters pledge.
S Kula Women's College principal W Robindro Singh, ADM Bishnupur H Bobby Sharma and SVEEP nodal officer Bishnupur Dr Salam Dhanachandra Singh also attended the function as special guests.
Later DEO Bikram chaired an election preparedness review meeting attended by ROs and nodal officers of the district wherein Ejaj Hassan briefed the DEO through powerpoint on election preparedness covering status of electoral rolls, polling station AMF status, AEP for Persons with Disabilities, polling officials and vehicles, MCC and Covid management among others.
