Imphal, January 10 2022:
All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) has urged underground outfits and other organisations to refrain from making threats to the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM) .
In a statement released today, AMSU stated that employees of COHSEM take a huge responsibility in conducting the exams for class X and class XII students and as such, they should not deal with outside pressures or threats.
The statement further informed that COHSEM is not only involved in conducting exams for students but also works on upgrading syllabus, issuing and correcting certificates and various other works involving the welfare of students.
If such an institution that is vital for the student community of the State faces threats then this might subsequently affect the students of Manipur, AMSU continued.
The employees of COHSEM who should be in the midst of making preparations for conducting the upcoming class X and class XII exams are anxious about what harm may fall upon them at COHSEM office, the statement added.
If the situation persists, AMSU asserted that it might jeopardize the future of more than 70,000 students who are slated to appear for the upcoming exams.
