Security meet, ESM interaction prog organised

Chassad Battalion of Assam Rifles organised a village security meet at Nampi-sha on Saturday to deliberate on current security situation in Myanmar, suspension of FMR and its implications for the border villages of Ma nipur so as to work hand in hand to strengthen Civil-Military Liaison for security and well-being of civil population in AOR.
Informing that village headmen/secretaries, civil workers, contractors of Nampisha, Khangpat Khunou, Khangpat Khullen villages attended the meet, PRO IGAR (S) said in a release that the speakers conveyed to the village authorities that the role of village headman/secretary is critical for establishing peace and harmony in the area by guiding the locals against any illegal/smuggling activities in the area and working in conjunction with Assam Rifles to maintain territorial integrity and prosperity in AOR.
The village members were specifically made aware of the present situation in Myanmar and suspension of FMR.
The village authorities affirmed to report infiltration of any Myanmar locals into Indian villages for any reason.
Meanwhile, Keithelmanbi Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles/IGAR (South) organised an ESM meet at Nambol in Bishnupur district on Saturday to maintain the spirit of brotherhood and camaraderie among ex-servicemen of Army and Assam Rifles.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the meet saw a healthy participation of 20 ESMs of Assam Rifles, Army and BSF.
The meet provided a platform for discussion on various issues being faced by the ESMs.
During the meet, an endeavour was made to address their grievances related to their pension, CSD and other welfare schemes.
The gathering appreciated the sustained efforts of the Battalion in maintaining security and peace in the area, the PRO added.
