HC disposes PIL on Tamenglong nursing institute

Imphal, November 12 2022:
The Manipur High Court disposed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on October 18, which was filed regarding construction of a nursing institute in Tamenglong.
Government advocate S Napolean, representing the state and Directorate of Health Services, had submitted an additional affidavit to the Court on September 28.In the affidavit, the state deputy secretary (health and family welfare) provided detailed information, including the amount sanctioned under a centrally Sponsored scheme of the central government as well as the project estimate.
The construction of a GNM School in Tamenglong is in progress and funds have been released for construction of the building.
The Manipur Tribal Development Corporation had released Rs 1,78,70,842 in total for construction of the GNM School.
Observing that the respondent had provided clear and detailed information about the project in the additional affidavit, the divisional bench of Manipur High Court Chief Justice PV Sanjay Kumar and Justice MV Muralidaran said that the cause of the PIL no longer hold any merit and thus, closed the PIL.
