PREPAK observes "martyrs' day"

Imphal, November 12 2022:
The proscribed outfit PREPAK observed "Athou-basinggi Ningshing Numit" today.
As part of the observance, family members of three cadres killed at Kameng Leimarok lit candles at night and paid floral tributes at their memorial tomb at Tera Loukrakpam Leikai.
The three were killed in an encounter with the security forces on November 12, 1978 at Kameng Leimarok.
According to a statement issued by PREPAK, a combined team of CRPF and Manipur police personnel attacked a transit camp of the outfit at Kameng Leimarok on November 12, 1978.During the attack, PREPAK lost two of its cadres namely Ayekpam Dhiren alias Angam of Tera Loukrakpam Leikai and Phurailatpam Kabikanta alias Leimu alias Leingam of Sagolband Meino Leirak, and one cadre of PLA, Pukhrampbam Gambhir of Kakwa Naorem Leikai.

Remembering this day, PREPAK has been observing November 12 every year as "Athoubasinggi Ningshing Numit" since 1979, it said.
Further, PREPAK also remembered and paid rich tributes to its leader RK Tulachandra alias Loyataba who was killed by security forces on November 12, 1985, it added.
