4th National Lok Adalat held

As per the calendar of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), the Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) in association with the High Court Legal Services Committee and District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) organized the 4th National Lok Adalat for the year, 2022 today at various places across the state.
National Lok Adalat for Imphal East and West district was jointly organized by MASLSA in association with the Imphal East and Imphal West District Legal Services Authorities at Lamphel Court Complex, said a press release by MASLSA.
The High Court Legal Services Committee also organized National Lok Adalat at High Court of Manipur complex in which one bench comprising of Gaiphulshillu Golmei, Registrar General, High Court of Manipur as the Chairperson; M Manojkumar Singh, Judge, Family Court and Y Rother, Registrar (Judl.), High Court of Manipur as members.
For the National Lok Adalat held at High Court of Manipur, 12 cases were put up and out of which seven cases including bank, insurance and matrimonial matters have been successfully settled.
For the State of Manipur, a total of 528 cases which includes both pre-litigation and pending Court cases on bank recovery matters, BSNL bill matters, matrimonial cases, criminal compoundable cases, civil cases, Motor Accident Claims cases, N.I.Act cases etc.
were taken up today and out of which 353 cases including 26 cases pending in the Courts have been settled.
The total settled amount in today's National Lok Adalat is Rs.5,50,59,224/- (Rupees five crore fifty lakh fifty-nine thousand two hundred and twenty-four) only.
The rate of settlement in today's National Lok Adalat stands at 66.85 %.
It is to be mentioned that this is the last National Lok Adalat for the year 2022 as per the calendar prescribed by National Legal Services Authority.
This year, the total number of settled cases and settlement amount has been significantly increased as compared to last year's total settled cases of 914 cases with total settled amount of Rs.8,31,16,469/- (Rupees eight crores thirty one lakhs sixteen thousand four hundred and sixty-nine) only.
