AMPFA condemns burning of paddy stacks, provides assistance

All Manipur Progressive Farmers' Association (AMPFA) today provided monetary assistance of Rs 5 Lakh to the family of Moirangthem Nabachandra from Khangabok Awang Leikai.
Speaking to media persons, Konthoujam Thoiba Meitei, president AMPFA strongly condemned the burning of paddy stacks readied for threshing at the field of Moirangthem Nabachandra by unknown miscreants on November 7 .
Highlighting the hardships and investments put into the paddy fields by the farmers, Thoiba Meitei stated that every right thinking person should denounce such irresponsible acts and appreciate the farmers who are working day & night to make the State self-reliant in agriculture.
He also mentioned that members of AMPFA contributed generously to assist the family of Moirangthem Nabachandra who are suffering due to the tragic incident.
"AMPFA will continue to work for the welfare of the farmer community", he added.
Thoiba Meitei further appealed to the State Government and Department concerned to book the culprits involved in the incident and provide necessary assistance to the affected family at the earliest.
It may be mentioned that Konthoujam Thoiba Meitei was accompanied by AMPFA vice president, K Jiten; general secretary, Khundrakpam Biren and Apunba Loumi Lup Thoubal advisor, N Kuber in his visit.
Moreover, Apunba Loumi Lup, Thoubal also condemned the tragic incident and urged the authorities concerned to arrest the culprits and extend all possible assistance to the family in distress.
