Agartala-Khongshang rail service flagged off

Noney, October 13 2022:
President Droupadi Murmur on Thursday flagged off Agartala-Khongshang Jan Shatabdi Express from Agartala.
The 8 coach express train crossed Jiribam at 3 pm and reached Khongshang Station, Noney district at 5:05 pm.
The inaugural run of the Agartala-Khongshang train was accompanied by S Das, deputy chief engineer (con struction), Jiribam-Imphal section, and other officials of the Northeast Frontier Railway.
The Jan Shatabdi Express will run tri-weekly on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Currently, Sinreap Gangmei of Nungba, Noney district and Aribam Biswanath Sharma of Bamol Leikai, Imphal are station manager's of the Khongshang Station.
The express train took 7 hours and 40 minutes to reach Khongshang from Agartala and two hours from Jiribam to Khongshang (54 km).
On Friday, the train will depart from Agartala at 6 am and will reach Khongsang at 1:40 pm.
The train service is expected to help reduce transportation problem being faced by the people of Manipur and price rise.
The train is expected to reach Imphal in two years.
