Motorcycle expedition of Army reaches state

Imphal, October 13 2022:
The Army Service Corp motorcycle display team called "Tornadoes" on Tuesday reached Leimakhong on Day 11 of their Motorcycle Expedition of North Eastern States.
The motorcycle expedition will be covering 2600 KM through the seven north eastern states to pay homage to brave hearts who valiantly fought various wars and gave supreme sacrifice of their life, said a release by Defence PRO Lt Col Manish Shrivastava.
The release said that the "Tornadoes" comprise one officer, two JCOs and 16 other ranks led by Capt AS Grewal.
The expedition was undertaken to commemorate ASC's 11th Reunion and 262nd Corps Day on December 8, 2022, after embarking the adventure on October 1 from Tezpur.
After paying homage to the brave hearts of 1971 War at Leimakhong War Memorial, the expedition was flagged off by GOC Red Shield Division for their next destination, Zakhama to pay homage to Capt Kenguruse (MVC) at his native village Nerhema.
An ASC officer Capt Kenguruse was attached with 2 Rajputana rifles during Kargil Operations by Indian Army.
As the Ghatak platoon commander, Kenguruse was assigned to evict Pakistani intruders holding a machine gun post at Black Rock in Dras Sector and to capture the area.
Without caring for his personal safety, Capt Kenguruse climbed barefoot, reached the top and killed 2 infiltrators with his rifle and other two enemies in a hand-to-hand combat despite being shot in his abdomen.
Due to his unflinching bravery Capt Kungiruse was awarded the Mahavir Chakra, the 2nd highest act of bravery.
Parents of the deceased captain - Neiselie and Dinuo Kenguruse along with his brother Atoulie Kenguruse were present at the Kenguruse War Memorial where the ASC Tornadoes team met and felicitated the family for their eternal sacrifice, added the release.
