AR units hold interaction prog, security meet

Mantripukhri Battalion of IGAR (South) organised an interaction programme with meira paibi, youth club and village development committee members of Gwaltabi village at Gwaltabi village community hall on Monday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), meira paibi groups enjoy an influential stature of reverence in Meitei society, particularly in areas with Meitei inhabitants and as such the meet focused on measures to empower youth and women.
It also provided a suitable platform for discussion on various issues being faced by the locals Gwaltabi.
Altogether 52 members of meira paibi, youth club and village development committee enthusiastically participated in the meet.
Meanwhile, Keithelmanbi Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a security and coordination meet at Keithelmanbi on Monday which had healthy participation of village representatives including village GB, secretaries and youth.
The meet provided the platform for discussion of various security related issues and Independence Day celebrations including Har Ghar Thanga campaign.
Career opportunities for the students in defence forces and in sports were also discussed.
The people pledged to extend utmost cooperation to Assam Rifles in maintaining peace and harmony in the Area of Responsibilities.
They also appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles for all round support to local populace, the PRO said in another release.
